A fun weekend

The photos are from Saturday--the second one was taken in the a.m. Sophie has her "Kids for a Cure" onesie on, and the first we took of ourselves right before Karen came to watch Sophie--that's our 7th Anniversary photo!

We had a really fun weekend! On Friday night our friends Allison and Jason (from our birth class) came over with their son Glenn. Glenn is about a month younger than Sophie. We had dinner and chatted. The babies interacted a little. Glenn is such a quiet, happy little guy. He and Sophie definately approach the world a little differently. This became very clear to us when we put Glenn in the excer-saucer--Sophie usually jumps around and makes a ton of noise...Glenn turned around, played with the toys, chewed on them a bit, jumped a couple of times, and quietly smiled and jabbered on. Sophie went to bed at 7:30 and Glenn, the party animal, was still pretty awake when Jason and Allison left at 10:30 (yes, p.m.!)! (We would be in trouble if Sophie stayed up that late...she'd be staying up all by herself!). It was good to have our friends over!

On Saturday a.m. it was pretty chilly, so instead of walking the route for Race for the Cure we had Breakfast for the Cure! But, we did drive through the area around the capitol where the race and walk were taking place (final count was 25,000 participants!). Mike's Mom always enjoys the event--in fact, we typically do the Race in Brainerd, MN when we're there for 4th of July. Its amazing how many people have been, are, and will be touched by breast cancer...

Then on Saturday p.m. Mike and I went to dinner for our 7th wedding anniversary (I know, can you believe it?!?). Mike's Mom watched Sophie. We were gone for over 2 hours. We had a great dinner at Cafe di Scala!

Sunday a.m. Mike made butternut squash pancakes. They were very tasty (and made with plenty of pumpkin pie spice, our favorite!)! Then, just as we were finishing up the dishes the power went out! We had been having quite a bit of wind and I don't know if we ever found out why the power went out--but it did and we survived without any issues--in fact, it was back on within a couple of hours. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon running around town and getting ready for the week.

We love fall--the leaves are changing and the air is crisp--it is SO beautiful!!
